The Claw is nothing without it's members. The Baron realized long ago that the will of the people govern the future of community. It is this realization that drives the group to value the character of every member beyond the ego of the group itself.

Claw High Council Insignia

The High Council

Directors of The Claw. Bodied by three to avoid a split decree. Ultimate authority second to that only of the Baron. May squire addtional members.

Threontine Council

Officiates of The Claw. Bodied by 13 and gates to the group. Empowered to take on Clawdettes as their initiates. Seek entry through the gates of Claw through the Threontine.

Claw Member

Body of The Claw and observers of the initiates. Empowered to uphold and Claw code and intrusted representatives of the group.

Clawdette

Initiates of The Claw are intrusted to uphold the Claw code and to honor the will of the group. Clawdettes serve the Claw for a 12-months. They are expected to uphold the Claw Code and exhibit a character of honor, valor, and assertiveness.

Membership

Membership of Claw is limited to those that give a promise to respect our Code of Honor, respect the vendors and entertainers of fair, and set forth to promote the world of renaissance fairs.

Claw members are expected to uphold our code and maintain a level of character that brings honor upon them, our members, the group, and the fair. Little more is expected. However, what one will recognize in all Claw members is the overwhelming character good will and a helping heart. Through unity, our campsites form a community that ensures that no one is left needing. The strength of our group provides a common area to enjoy our time together in a fairly organized and safe manner.

Membership is limited. However, our prerequisite do not discriminate on race, creed, or believes. The Claw Code of Honor defines  the basic character of an individual endeavoring to be Claw. Traditional pirates, barbarians, warriors, mercenaries, wenches, rogues, bards, and such are welcome. Fantasy characters such as fairies, elves, gnomes, and other fey are also permitted. Characters, creatures, and other beings familiar to popular medieval and style role-playing games are also welcome. Our rules are strict on the nature garb. No stormtroopers, mundanes, or mandanes will be permitted. Even if one can cleverly argue why a StarTrek crew member would be present in medieval time we regret to inform them that they are still at the wrong convention, nice try.

Mundane is exactly as it defines, they are the guest of fair that come with their family and friends to enjoy the fair. Though not all our members are participants (paid entertainers), our very presence at fair helps paint a canvas for the mundane. Claw members enjoy being part of the fray and sharing a joy with those that visit. This is not to say that you will not see a Claw member in mundane clothing (endearingly known as being “naked”). After all, we are human and have family and friends or just require a day to take in fair ourselves where it’s more convenient to shop and browse without the worries of our spikes and garb snagging additional deals. A mandane is one that almost got it but fell well short of the goal. One can be recognized by the All Star Chuck sneakers, Britney Spears T-shirt, Claymore strapped to their back, and assorted plethora of ninjas throwing stars aligning their gloriously emblazed Myley Ray Cyrus studded belt.

Renaissance fashion snobs, maybe -- leave you out in the cold, never. Returning to the Claw’s assisting nature, our members can show you how to build a custom look for your character and on occasion lend garb to those who are building their own personas.
