About The Claw
I’m often asked, “What is The Claw?” A simple answer is, “Nothing without its members.” We are a community, a state of mind, and a life style. Our religious believes, race and nationality have no bearings on our unity. We do, however, share the common interest in renaissance festivals and medieval fantasy arts and crafts. For some it’s the draw of the fairs and for others it may be the profession that they have chosen to enjoy. We are companions and a safe haven for one another while we enjoy the festivities and merriment.
Induction to The Claw is limited to ensure that the group has the opportunity to grow at a pace at which all members are comfortable with. Our restrictions are simple and are loosely based on the code of King Arthur’s Knights of the Round Table code of honor. The basic premise and foundation of our membership is summed up in one word -- respect.
How to Join
The Claw base their actions on a common code of honor derived and adapted from the days of the round table.
Stipulations of Membership
NO Mundanes - Normal everyday dress. If you don't have garb contact a member of the claw and we will help get you into something. This isn't to say that you will not see claw members in mundane clothes. Weather permitting we will be in garb.
NO Mandanes - Almost there, but not quite. You can usually point these people out by the Britney Spears T-Shirt, sneakers and claymore sword strung to there back.
NO Renaissance Trekkies - This includes Star Wars costumes. Wrong convention, try again.
Yes it's enforced but, one of the major benefits of The Claw, If you don't like it you don't have to be a part of it.
The Claw's Grasp
All entities of The Claw make us a family. Brothers and sisters who where brought together by the common love for faires. You will find us together in camps at faires. (More than likely in the pub) singing, dancing and sometimes crying . But we will be as one and welcome you to join our merriment. |
